In last week's poll, we asked who you sympathized with most in GH's Abuse Storyline: Krissy, Ethan, Alexis, Sonny or Viewers. It was pretty much neck and neck between Krissy and Ethan for most of the week, but the winner, by a small margin is... Kristina!
44% of the vote went to Krissy (that's a whopping 24 votes, lol!) while 40% (20 votes) felt more sympathetic towards Ethan. The Viewers got 9% (5 votes) of our readers' sympathy for having to sit through this mess of a story. 2 voters (3%) felt most sorry for Alexis. And while Sonny always comes out a winner on General Hospital, sadly, in our poll he was the Big Loser with just 1 vote.
Most of you know I have mixed feelings about this story. The performances by everyone have been terrific, I like that the story involves so many characters (but where have Nik and Molly been??) , and it's an important topic. But the execution of this story proves to me that Guza should not be allowed anywhere near a "social issue" story.
I'd love to hear what all of you think about this story. Are you loving it? Hating it? Bored by it? Touched? Offended? Do you think this story will help other young women who are/or may become victims of abuse? Do you think it's great soap? Let me know!

Seriously, where have Nik and Molly been. Molly the little detective would have sniffed out the truth in a hearbeat and Uncle Nik would have been after Ethan's throat after the way they bumped heads in the beginning. I will enjoy the egg on everyone's face when they realize they were all wrong and seriously, will Kristina ever learn an lesson about lying? Seems NOT.
ReplyDeleteMolly definitely should have been involved, but Nik's too busy drooling over Liz, while she's staying at Shadybrooke no less, to even notice anything else. Hell, he doesn't even know where his kid is most of the time.

Anonymous: Yeah, not having Molly and Nik around has been a *major* flaw in this story. Especially considering, as you pointed out, Nik and Ethan's past, as well as Nik's history with Luke. It would also add even more tension to Nik and Lucky's relationship/situation. Great potential there. Guza is getting sloppy and lazy, imo.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people would agree w/ you about "enjoying the egg on everyone's face" when the truth comes out. But I feel differently. In the real world, Alexis, Sonny, and Sam believing Kristina, supporting her and being furious at Ethan would be understandable and right. But in Guza's twisted world, believing a young woman who's been abused is *wrong* because women are liars. That's so awful to me. So I'm not looking forward to them having to apologize to Ethan and the rest of the Spencers (and I'm hoping they don't respond with their typical smugness.)
Thanks for commenting!!
Jessica: LOL! Yeah, what's the deal, did Nik decide to stay at Shadybrook too and cut off all communication with everyone?? So ridiculous, lol! I know he never cared about his own son, but I *thought* he cared about Kristina...
ReplyDeleteMel your last post was right on. I am getting so frustrated that so many people are ripping on Alexis and Sam as if they know what we know - that Ethan is innocent. With respect to the poll, I have sympathy for all involved so it was a tough question for me to answer.
ReplyDeleteI dont get the missing Nik and Molly aspect either, but then again when Nik had his tumor Lizard and Alexis barely batted an eye but when they thought he might sleep with Rebecca they were all up in his business. I guess we can take from all of this that if something serious happens your extended family wont give a crap, but date the wrong person and all of PC will be up in arms LOL
