Home and Away 26 Jan 2012 Episode 5439 Recap & Reactions

Hey all! Since our fearless leader Brooke decided to LIVE TWEET the episode last night, I thought I'd pick up her slack and post the episode on the blog, why? Because if you haven't been able to tell yet, Home and Away is one of my all time favorite shows so I am more than excited to get to finally blog about this season! So without further ado let's get started!

The episode opens up with Liam leaving Irene's saying he is going to help run Angelo's while Brax is dealing with his grief. Irene is feeling poorly so Bianca sends her to bed and says she will take care of everything. It is then that a cake arrives congratulating her on her engagement (jeeze that just happened? Feels like eons ago!).

April comes over to the diner and talks with Xavier, the two make up for the whole "will you let me bang you" debacle, and they talk about school. April missed getting into med school by a couple of points so she's going to repeat.......(HAS ANY repeater ever actually finished school? Carly Morris, Romeo, etc all dropped out! As Irene would say "Good Luck Girlie cuz your gonna need it.") Heath returns to Summer Bay and catches April's attention. After he leaves the diner, she follows him home, she welcomes him back and then asks if they could do something later, Heath kinda blows her off, but she keeps flirting till he says he's gotta go.

Over at Angelo's, Heath tries to play big boss with Liam, and Liam says fine and hands all the managerial work over to "his majesty"- including finding out who the mysterious campaign and party is for tonight.

April arrives at home and talks with Bianca, Bincs basically comforts her sister and tells her everything is going to be alright, it's then that Bianca asks if she knows anything about the cake, and April and Irene explain how it was Charlie's idea for her surprise engagement party. Bianca then goes to Liam and the two discuss the party- and after initially turning it down, when Heath asks what's the plan and the two just look at each other.

Xavier tells his mother that he isn't taking a gap year, she's extremely happy with that news, but then Xavier spills the beans and says he is going to join the police force. He says he knows this might be scary with what happened to Jack (JACK SHOUT OUT! YES!) and Charlie (and Hugo, and Angelo and...) but it's something he has to do, and look on the bright side, at least he isn't roaming around aimlessly in the UK or somewhere. Gina says she just needs a moment to panic, that's all.

Xavier then leaves and catches up with April, they talk about how Gina was overall okay with it, they talk about April's issues a bit but then Heath comes along and distracts her.

At the diner Bianca is talking about the party with Roo and Marilyn, Marilyn tries to push her into having the party because its what Charlie would have wanted, so she decides to do it.

April confronts Heath and asks what's going on with them. Heath thought it was a one night stand, and says that they were nothing, an upset April leaves.

At Irene's Bianca says that the party is back on, April walks in and hears the news, she's upset that it's still at Angelo's but whatever.

At the party everyone is having a good time; Alf and Xavier talk about his plans, and then it's time for speeches. They toast to Charlie, and then to each other, Liam than serenades Bianca. Wanting to get wasted Heath takes some booze and leaves the party, he meets up with April and the two discuss his relationship with Bianca and how Heath doesn't believe in love. "So what do you believe in?" she asks, "That you look really hot in that dress" (Note: Yes, yes she does).

Inside, Bianca and Liam get ready to leave, but as Bianca is looking out at the beach she notices
Heath and April making out, she immediately runs after them, "What the HELL IS THIS?" she shouts, and then the episode ends.

GREAT episode, loved every minute of it! While I cannot say it was the best episode of the week (I actually have to say this was probably the weakest) it was still really great and I am so ready to see what tomorrow has in store as Heath says he slept with April and the fall out around that explodes at the party!
