After much anticipation the artwork for Neighbours From the Beginning Volume 1 has been revealed! As previously reported this six disc set will include the first 56 episodes of the series!
The series is being released as PG- for mild themes, sexual references, and infringement course language - So was Neighbours in the beginning the Neighbours after dark that our @SoapOperaBabble really wants? Nope. But it is a bit different than the G rated series we have today.

That is great news! I am a very big fan of Neighbours. I have got the other three dvd box sets of Neighbours that have been released in the past, Defining Moments and the Iconic Episodes Volumes 1 and 2.
ReplyDeleteI will be buying this when it comes out. I just hope that amazon UK's site mentions it as it currently doesn't. It only mentions the other three DVDs for the soap.
My favourite version of the theme tune is the one that was sung by Greg Hind between 1992 and 1998. It's great! I have got the closing credits version on my phone, so I could have that as a ringtone whenever I want to.
My favourite episode is theone where the pub blows up in 1993. Known as the Waterhole back then, it was later called Chez Chez and after that, Lou's Place.
Anyway, so excited! I wonder how much it will cost? Probably around £29.99 or maybe a bit higher. I dunno. I hope to find out soon. Can't wait! I hope that either in the late Autumn or early next year, volume 2 comes out.
I've already bought this DVD, and am eagerly awaiting it in the post within the next week or so - Amazon UK doesn't do well with pricing competitively for overseas imports like this, so I bought it direct from Australia instead for about 30% less. The price on shock.com.au is about $36, as opposed to £30+p&p from Amazon. It was released on 4 April.
ReplyDeleteNot only that, but doing a bit of digging around on Shock Ent's website, I managed to root out another little bit of info - From the Beginning Volume 2 is scheduled for release on 7 Nov 12, so there's some more good news to look forward to! :D
As with Anonymous above, I also have both Iconic Episodes volumes, and the Defining Moments collection, but being able to watch all the episodes in order from the start and with proper context to the events is even better in my humble opinion. Like I said before, can't wait! ^^
When is volume 2 coming out,it seems stupid that we can only get 1/2 of the first year..........what a rip off. Whats the good of only having 1/2 the year and never seeing the rest of the year
ReplyDeleteLike I said in my previous comment, volume 2's release date is 7th November 2012, so that's not too long to wait for the second installment.
DeleteThe thing about it is though, volume 1 is episodes 1-56, and volume 2 will no doubt be about the same length. The complete first year will actually comprise volumes 1-3 in all. :)
