Getting Off My Arse

I've had this blogspot set up for awhile. Why no posts until now? I'm a lazy git. Be under no illusions, I am a sporadic blogger. I only blog when I feel the need to!! If you want me to write something you'll have to kick my arse (thanks Mel and Nancy). So here we are.

So I watch soaps. Mainly Days of our Lives - I'm an EJami fan, let's get that out there now. I also sporadically watch Aussie soaps Home and Away and Neighbours. If I'm lucky I get to watch NZ soap Shortland Street, UK soap Coronation Street and the other US soaps One Life to Live. I'll only watch General Hospital if ppl tweet it's awesome. I do not usually watch these shows live and I'm usually behind in my watching. I told you, I'm lazy!

I just got back from a trip to the US. Oh My God! What a trip! Can't explain how effing awesome it was. Two trips to the NBC Studios, dinner at Henry's Hat LA where I got to chat with Martha Madison (ex-Belle Black, Days of our Lives), sailed away on the Celebrity Events Group 3rd Annual Soap Cruise (met Billy Warlock (ex-Frankie, Days of our Lives), exchanged Aussie-isms with Christian Le Blanc (Michael Baldwin, Young and the Restless) and debated the merits of 'aerial ping-pong' aka Aussie Rules Football with fellow Aussie (albeit a Sydneysider) Daniel Goddard (Cane, Young and the Restless). But that's not the best part! My fave actor, James Scott (EJ DiMera, Days of our Lives), was supposed to attend the cruise also. Due to scheduling conflicts he was unable to attend at the last minute. But being the awesome guy he is, arranged to meet with me and my friend before we jetted back to Oz, to give us a personalised tour of the Days set and lunch! Since we'd come all the way from Oz to meet him (more like be trapped on a boat with him for 4 nights, but hey), he felt bad and wanted to do something to say thank you. Well... I lost all ability to speak like a normal human. If you're a member of Forbidden Love (Ejami fansite), you can read the full account of what happened there. If not, I can't really delve too much into it here. Sorry.

Anyhoo, that's it for now. It's late where I live. Follow me on twitter or leave me a comment. If they're nasty I'll delete them. Just sayin'

  1. Denial Island blog - woohoo!!!

Okay, where do I start?? First, your vacation sounds like the best vacation any soap fan could have! A soap cruise, meeting Billy W (EEEE!), a private tour and lunch with James Scott!!! Does it get any better?? lol!

So are you going to blog some stories from the soap cruise and maybe post some pics (from the cruise, of Martha, etc...)?? You've probably got so much, it might have to be a 12 part series, lol!! I think one whole section should be devoted to "Encounters with Billy Warlock" (this is a totally unbiased suggestion of course, lol!!)

As for your other soap watching - Do you prefer Corrie to EastEnders?? I love EastEnders but my watching is sporadic because my sources keep getting shut down, lol. I'm thinking about giving Corrie a shot today actually.

Anyway, SOOOO glad you've launched the Denial Island blog!!! I guess I'm going to actually have to start watching DAYS again, huh?

Oh and when you get around to it - you really must tell everyone the origins of the "Denial Island" name :)

  2. YAY! B's gotta blog! Sounds like you had a better time the second time around in the U.S.

Hopefully you can keep me interested enough to pay attention for when the good stuff starts happening. hehe

  3. OMG!!! What an awesome blog. I had no idea you got to meet Martha. She's one of my favorite Days actors. Right now I wish i was was you or even with you. Would love to see more of your trip posted. You are one lucky girl. I live closer to everything you did than you, yet I still couldn't afford to do any of it. Maybe some day.

  4. This was supposed to be a surprise response where you check the comment thread and jump up and down upon seeing I responded to you but that went out the window when I had to ask for posting help for this on Twitter from you lol.

Anyways, loved hearing about the trip you had to the states. Brings back some great memories of stories and pics you and Dee shared at Forbidden Love (btw, an excellent EJami fan site for those of you who are curious). Can't wait to hear more from you in blog form soon. Keep up the good work!
