What did you think of that promo? I kinda shook my head at some of the questionable acting there by a certain fired starlet but hey that's just me. 

Days Of Our Lives John Aniston and Suzanne Rogers First Month Long Absence Since 2008!

After having been the focus and one of the few bright spots during a very dark period of Days of our lives actors John Aniston and Suzanne Rogers who portray Victor and Maggie Kiriakis were not seen at ALL the entire month of April! This is the first time either actor has been absent from Days since 2008!

Why is this? Why did the network / the new regime not take to "Magic" like the fans had? I guess only time will show what the future has in store for this couple, but it is sad to see that the actors were not used at all, and thus breaking a streak that no one wanted to see broken.

Charles Shaughnessy Books Nickelodeon Victorious Guest Stint!

Great news for fans of Charles Shaughnessy the former Days of our Lives star has booked himself a two episode guest stint on the hit Nickelodeon series Victorious!

We here on the island wish Mr. Shaughnessy the best of luck with this and hope he returns to Salem soon!- Shaughnessy is scheduled to make 12 appearances in Days of our Lives starting next month.

Pretty Little Liar's Star Grab's Days Guest Stint

Pretty Little Liars star Brant Daugherty has secured himself a guest stint on the NBC soap Days of our Lives where he will be involved in the Will/Sonny (WilSon) story.

Do you wanna see Daugherty get between the pair? Maybe help them actually get together?

Daugherty is expected to begin airing in late June.

Christie Clark and Patrick Muldoon Film Final Days Of Our Lives Scenes

Well knowing the news was coming doesn't make this post any easier to type. Days of our Lives actors Christie Clark and Patrick Muldoon who play Carrie and Austen Reed respectfully have filmed their final scenes on Days of our Lives after returning to the program this past September.

While I wasn't an over the top fan of the stories and directions that they decided to take the characters in, Muldoon and Clark's performances were stellar and they will definitely be missed, hopefully this will not be the last time we see Carrie and Austen in town, but for now it's adios.

Did Days Of Our Lives Find It's Eric Brady?

It comes as no real surprise to say that Days Of Our Lives is looking for an actor to fill the void Jensen Ackles left behind with the role of Eric Brady being off camera for years. Various actors have tested for the role but always in the end last minute rewrites have changed the course. Now once again I have heard Days is looking for an Eric Brady this time in the form of "Drew", and might have just found one in the form of unknown actor Carson Underwood.

Will Underwood get or take the part? We will have to wait and see as he is also up for the role of the Red Power Ranger in the upcoming 2013 series!

The role of "Drew" is described by Soap Opera Digest to be "A 30-to-35-year-old well-built, Caucasian male. "Drew is the ideal man in every way," reads the breakdown for the part. "From his incredible good looks, to his sincerity, integrity and strength. He is the total package. He is smart and caring and has a way about him that puts anyone at ease. But behind his perfect facade may lie a pain that drives him to do anything to forget his past."

Just wow. My hat goes off to the folks over at Sony entertainment and Days of Our Lives for pushing the Will story further than any American soap has gone before. While I will be "comparing kisses" in the next post, I wanted to just take a moment to say well done and give Days props for what they have done.

Days Of Our Lives Recasting Santo Dimera????

Well this is odd, Days Of Our Lives has put out a casting call for a new Santo Dimera to play the role for 2 episodes with potential for more later on. Considering the role was originated by James Scott who is still on contract I really don't see the point to this recast, but hey that's just me.

Speculation on what this return could mean for Stefano (especially his paternity) have been running rampant over the internet, but we will just have to tune in and find out in May/June when these scenes will air.

Why Are You Not Watching Days of Our Lives?

In September 2011, Days of Our Lives underwent a new regime and has been consistently improving over its last episode. Great socially relevant storytelling about characters we know and love have been implemented, as well as an improved use of its veteran cast (having the fab 4 driving as well as supporting story!) - yet the ratings don't reflect a liking for Days 2.0.

While I will 100% agree that Days is leaps and bounds away from being perfect, it is still a really interesting show that has continued to keep my attention and leave me wanting more, especially considering how SMART some of the scripts and storylines are.

So here is my question to you. Why are you not watching Days? Better yet what could Days do to get you to tune in? (*cough* answers like "Make it One Life to Live" or "Cast Trevor St. John as the REAL Todd Manning" don't count but are appreciated! *cough*). Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Beverly Todd Steps Into the Role of Celeste on DAYS

After alleged "scheduling conflicts" Tanya Boyd was unable to return to her role as Celeste on Days of Our Lives, so the series has moved forward and recast the role with acclaimed actress Beverly Todd! Of course I was disappointed to hear that Boyd wasn't able to make it to film her story arc, but I have the up-most confidence in Todd and I look forward to seeing what she will bring to the table.

Todd's arc as the fortune teller Celeste Perrault will begin airing on April 3.

Brooke's 2012 Soap Predictions!

I thought this was fitting for soaps....

You loved them last year, so they're back! That's right, in a 3-part special, each Denial Island Resident is going to share with you their extremely-accurate-and-not-biased-in-any-way 2012 Soap Predictions! No two predictions are exactly the same... we've all kind of taken a slightly different approach, ranging from the serious to the more snarky (guilty!). I'm starting off, so here is what I think will happen in the world of soaps in 2012...

Voting Opens for the 2012 TV Week Logie Awards

Voting has opened for the 2012 TV Week Logie Awards - Australia's night of nights in terms of fan-voted television awards. Winners last year included actors Asher Keddie (Dr Nina Proudman, Offspring) for Most Popular Actress, and Hugh Sheridan (Ben Rafter, Packed to the Rafters) for Most Popular Actor. I think it was the first year that I can remember where an actor or actress from Aussie suds Home and Away or Neighbours hasn't won the Logie for Most Popular New Talent! Let's see if we can change that this year with a nomination for Steve Peacocke (Brax, Home and Away), Demi Harman (Sasha, Home and Away) or Gemma Pranita (Jade, Neighbours).

I'm not sure if Denial Islanders outside of Australia can vote, but try the link anyway. Voting closes February 19, 2012. The Logie (pronounced low-gies (as if you were saying get, not geez)) Awards are usually held the first week in May at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, and two years ago boasted international guests Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell from US soap Days of our Lives.
