Ragged Isle Episode 4 Recap and Reactions

Hey guy's it's that time of the week again, time to visit Ragged Isle again over at The SFN. If you didn't see my post in regards to the episode that CHANGED EVERYTHING for me go check it out here. Otherwise let's get going before we miss the boat!

The episode begins with an introduction to Deputy Dan, he talks with the Sheriff who asks him how he'd drowned a person without getting them into the water...

We then cut to Vicki who is in the woods taking some nature shots when she stumbles upon a secret meeting and takes photos of them talking. At the meeting Shaw welcomes and thanks them all for coming, and says that a matter they all believed to be over may in fact be reopening itself again.

The show then moves to the town hall meeting, where people wonder why the community is moving on with events when fellow citizens have been murdered. Then someone asks when the Sheriff intends to arrest Shaw, and BAM he walks in. They continue to discuss if they should have the town events, and put it to the vote. In the end they decide to keep it as is and continue on with the events.

Then the Sheriff comes up and gives a speech, he states that he is glad that they voted the way that they did, but in these trying times there are some things that they can do to remain safe, don't go out on the island by themselves, and don't go out after dark unless they absolutely have to, we then cut to another person that has been "changed" before we fade into the credits.

Reaction:

Okay I am still invested into this show, and still going to check it out, but this episode on a whole kinda tapered things back off a bit for me, mainly because nothing 'happened' in this episode it just kinda put things in place for what will more than likely happen in the next episode. I am not saying that was a 'bad' thing, because I think that the town hall scene in particular helped to build up the notion that this is a community and an ensemble piece, but I just want to see a bit more of the story moving forward... But hopefully that will happen within the next few episodes.

I would also like to take this moment and congratulate the crew of Ragged Isle especially creator Barry Dodd on the series win at the Independent Soap Awards! While I will not say what awards the series won (don't want to spoil anything for those waiting for the SFN broadcast!) I think they were well deserved and I wish them best of luck with season 2!
