Who's Who: General Hospital

With One Life to Live ending this past Friday, I thought I'd take this opportunity to write a quick guide to who's who in each soap so that if you decided to pick up another series you would have a quick reference guide to come to and a place to feel free to ask questions.

So without further ado, let's get started with the first in the series covering General Hospital.


Over the past few years General Hospital has moved away from being a hospital driven series to a "Mob" centric Soprano's wanna be. Heading that family is none other than Sonny Corinthos.
Sonny arrived in Port Charles in 1993, and has since established himself as the kingpin of Port Charles. His ex-wife Carly Benson (now Corinthos Jax's) still lives in town, and is mother of his biological son Morgan and Stepson Michael. His other ex-wife Alexis Davis is mother to his other daughter Kristina.

Sonny is currently dating Kate Howard, and is an associate of Jason Morgan (formerly Quartermaine)

Michael Corinthos, and his mother Carly Corinthos Jax's:

Michael Corinthos is Carly Corinthos Jax's eldest son, his biological father is A.J. Quartermaine. He currently has ambitions to join the Mob, due to his grief of losing his first real love Abby, the hooker with a heart of gold. But because his father doesn't want him to join, Michael is in talks with a rival family... this isn't gonna turn out good that's for sure.

Carly Corinthos Jax is a mother of 3, Michael, Morgan, and Josslyn. She just found evidence leading her to believe that almost ex-husband Jax is actually alive! Because she kept this information to herself, Michael put the pieces of the puzzle together and disaster ensued. Carly is currently single but in a maybe relationship with former marine Shaun.

Alexis Davis and Kate Howard

Alexis Davis is the leading legal representative for the citizens of Port Charles. She is currently working for her ex- Sonny Corinthos, and raising daughter Molly (whose father is Sonny's half-brother Ric Lansing). Alexis' past is long and complicated but she has deep rooted history with the citizens of Port Charles, and her history is set to play a big role in the days to come.

Kate Howard is one of Sonny's first loves. She currently runs the fashion magazine 'Crimson' and is heavily involved with Sonny.

Liz/ Jason / Sam

Do you like love triangles? General Hospital has one of the most talked about, fought over, and lopsidedly written depending on the writer of the week pairings in daytime! Liason (Liz & Jason) against JaSam (Jason & Sam).

Liz: Liz's first love was Lucky Spencer, but she has three kids by three fathers. Jason is father to her now deceased son Jake, her older son Cameron is fathered by Zander (just ignore that fact...we all try to), and her youngest son Aiden is fathered by Lucky Spencer (though we thought the father was Lucky's brother Nicolas for a bit...), she is currently single but flirting with Dr. Ewan and Matt Hunter... She is a nurse at General Hospital and her interests also include painting.

Jason: Jason grew up a Quartermaine, a part of the show's richest family. When a tragic accident left him brain damaged, he changed his name to Jason Morgan and started working for Sonny Corinthos. Jason is currently married to Sam.

Sam: Samantha McCall, daughter of Alexis Davis and an unknown father (for now...), she is Jason's ride or die chick and the polar opposite of the saintly good girl Elizabeth. She was maybe raped by the evil Franco on her and Jason's (never ending) honeymoon, and has now found her self expecting a child, but is it Jason's or Franco's?

Patrick and Robin - Scrubs

Robin Scorpio: daughter of the great Robert Scorpio and Anna Devain, is a HIV positive doctor at General Hospital. She has a daughter with Patrick named Emma, and is currently experiencing severe symptoms of her HIV after an evil doctor switched her medication to try and get a hold of her daughter.

Patrick Drake: son of Noah Drake and brother of Matt Hunter, he is a world reknown brain surgeon and is deeply in love with Robin, despite making a few mistakes along the way.

While there are countless other characters to be added to this post, this will at least help give you an initial ground work of who's who in Port Charles as you begin watching.
